Perghamino is the name given by the ancient Greeks for the parchment they made for the copying of manuscripts by monks. The texture of this stone along with its various shades of grey, light shades of pink, and brown are the very characteristics that come with aged parchment. The thick veins of texture that run across the slab appear as if carved by hand, striped and aged. There is a lot of movement in this stone, adding to the dimension that the colors combine to create.
The colors of this stone make it very versatile and able to pair well with many different styles. A darker base though would bring out the deeper colors in the stone and add depth to any design.
